RELIVE RACHEL MADDOW'S LIVE BROADCAST IN MADISON OCTOBER 19, 2007

Rachel is a radio vet with more than 7 years experience in commercial radio, at the tender age of 33.  She was a Rhodes Scholar and has a doctorate in political science from Oxford University.  She grew up in California, and now splits her time between rural Western Massachusetts, and Manhattan.

Rachel is a regular commentator for MSNBC, and also makes appearances on CNN, on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” and other television programs.  She’s been profiled in the New York Times, praised by Liz Smith in her gossip column, reviewed (a rave) in New York Magazine, and given the full-page celebrity photo treatment in Magazines like OUT and The New Statesman.  You can also track all of Rachel's past and future MEDIA APPEARANCES.

The Rachel Maddow Show was the first to break the news. The Mic 92.1 will remain on the air in 2007.

Rachel Introduces Her New MSNBC Show

On Monday's TRMS
September 1, 2008

Rachel Maddow will be coming to you guys live from the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota! There is no Race for the White House tonight so Rachel will be on for 2 hours, 6-8pm ET.

The big stories this week are obviously Hurricane Gustav and Sarah Palin. Rachel will be reporting the latest on Gustav and discussing why and how Palin was never properly vetted.

We are still in St. Paul at the Republican National Convention. Things are picking up today-- there are actual people walking around! Yes, so darn exciting. Our big celebrity sighting today? Jon Voight.

On today's show Rachel will be talking to Libertarian presidential candidate and former Republican congressman Bob Barr! Rachel is so jealous that he's been to the Ron Paul convention. Maybe he'll sneak us in? Fingers crossed.

And then Rachel welcomes Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak back to the show.

We are live from the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado with our special Rachel Maddow Show unconventional convention coverage!  MSNBC has pre-empted Race for the White House tonight so Rachel will be live for two hours before Air America's special coverage with David Bender.  Side note: Rachel has started writing her Christmas wish-list early and THIS is at the very top.

On tonight's show we have lots of great guests.  The theme at the convention today is national security and vets issues so we'll be talking to our pal Paul Rieckhoff from Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and Steve Clemons from the Washington Note.  And then Rachel welcomes DCCC chairman Chris Van Hollen back to the show to talk about how he is using the convention to get more Democrats elected to the House.

The Rachel Maddow Show has its tissues ready; we're execting a tear-jerker of a speech from Obama tonight. Not only is today the anniversary of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech but it is also the first time in almost 50 years that a candidate has given his acceptance speech in a venue like Mile High Stadium.

And on the other end of the excitement spectrum there is the John McCain campaign! The campaign is confirming that a running mate has been selected and supposedly it's down to Mittens Romeny, Tim "Nice Hair" Pawlenty and Tom "Bulldog Face" Ridge. So tonight Rachel will be talking to Minneapolis mayor R.T. Rybak about Pawlenty, the governor of Minnesota, about their contentious relatonship and whether or not Pawlenty is a good choice for McCain. Oh, and we might even ask him for some bar recommendations for when we are in St. Paul next week.
